Once you get the max ki to like 50% you'll start to feel the tide of battle turning as the boss spends more time stun locked and you'll be able to wail on them more. You'll generate anima quickly in the dark realm by attacking so always be using those strong yokai abilities to further reduce maximum ki (often putting them in a break state if you use them when they're already at zero ki). When you're in the dark realm, provided there are no snakes, the boss is has less moves. Failing that or if you don't have them up, use strong high stance attacks or combos. Gozuki, Ippon Dattara are usually my go-to's at that point in the game but I'm sure there are others, anything kinda big (anima cost wise) probably works. When you reduce Ki to zero, you want to whack him with some big damage yokai abilities as these are good at reducing max ki. Like other Yokai bosses the fight will get easier as it goes on and you are able to reduce the maximum Ki. Remove the poison pools before the fight. I would recommend just dodging the lunges, brute is easy for the burst counter slam though. The burst counter stuff can be a bit tricky with brute for this fight. You'll lose all you're ki, but you should be able to move again before another attack comes out. It feels like the hitbox was always a little in front of me, so I would guess that dodging forward is more risky.įor the spin and tail whip thing - I found some success just blocking the hit if I couldn't time the dodge correctly. ![]() I found just spamming dodge backwards was usually sufficient as soon as I saw the tell. ![]() Failing that you can use something like Mezuki or maybe enenra or any other big aoe yokai core to kill them fast when they detach.įor the grab always dodge it. Once you've beaten one, you'll have to get the other by just attacking the side as he stops doing those attacks I think. They're easily vulnerable when he does the plunge arms into ground stuff. So a couple things: kill the snake arms before the dark realm. Yeah it's sort of the boss that if you can beat it you're in good shape for the rest of the game.
